Theater Communication for Parents
Stay in the know! Follow our communication platforms to stay in touch.
Questions? Email info@reddragonplayers.com.
Please note that some of our communication platforms haven't been used in a while! We plan to ramp everything up for 2021-22.
How will the funds be used?
To help purchase scripts, props and the many other supplies needed for our productions
To help purchase food, drinks and other supplies for our student social events, including the annual Halloween and holiday parties
To help feed our actors and crew members before weekday dress rehearsals and performances
The Austin High School Theatre Department receives a basic per-student stipend from AISD for necessary supplies, but those funds do not come close to covering the many expenses required to run an award-winning theatre department!
Starting this school year, we are instituting a Fair Share fee of $50.00 for all theater production students. In exchange, parents will receive a free membership to the booster club at the Supporter level ($25 value), and their student will receive a newly updated CREW t-shirt ($15 value).
Ways to pay the Fair Share Fee:
Venmo
Please add “Fair Share Fee” plus the student’s name and preferred t-shirt size as a notePaypal
Please add “Fair Share Fee” plus the student’s name and preferred t-shirt size as a noteCheck: made out to Red Dragon Players Booster Club for $50.00 (please write “Fair Share Fee” plus the student’s name and preferred t-shirt size in the memo section, and have your student give the check to Mr. or Mrs. Dragoo during class.)
Parent Volunteers Needed!
Join our Austin High Theatre family by volunteering your time for an enjoyable and exciting cause. Join us behind the scenes by volunteering to support our fundraising, marketing, production, or social activities.
Some volunteer opportunities - like serving dinners to our student actors and crew before weekday shows, helping organize concessions and t-shirts for sale during intermissions, etc. - take place at AHS' Preas theatre, while many other opportunities may be done from home. There's something for all!
Please submit our 2021-22 Parent Survey to let us know your background and how you'd like to help. Or you can email president@reddragonplayers.com to schedule a time to chat!
